What is Forkd?
Forkd is a dining concierge for iPhone that scans any restaurant menu and ranks every dish against your personal taste profile. Instead of recommending the bestsellers, Forkd surfaces the dishes you would love — based on the flavors you have rated, the textures you have liked, and the allergens you avoid.
How does Forkd know what I'll like?
Onboarding asks a few quick questions, but the real signal comes from the dishes you actually order and rate. Every meal feeds your taste profile — your preferred flavors, textures, intensity, and dietary lines — and Forkd scores every menu item against that profile in real time.
Is Forkd free?
Yes. Forkd Free includes five menu scans per month, your taste profile, allergy warnings, and saved dishes — forever. Forkd Pro is $7.99 a month for unlimited scans, group ordering, wine pairings, and travel mode, with a 7-day free trial.
Is my data private?
Yes. Forkd stores your taste profile and dining history in your home region (US or EU) with strict isolation between regions. Your data is never sold, never shared with restaurants, and is exportable or deletable on demand. Full details live in the Forkd privacy policy.
Does Forkd handle allergies and dietary restrictions?
Yes. Forkd warns you on every dish that conflicts with an allergen or dietary line you have set — peanuts, shellfish, gluten, dairy, halal, kosher, vegan, and more. Warnings never hide a dish from the menu, so you can still ask the kitchen, but the recommendation engine deprioritizes anything unsafe.
How is Forkd different from Yelp or Google Reviews?
Yelp and Google Reviews tell you what other people thought of a restaurant. Forkd tells you which specific dish on a specific menu you, personally, will probably love. There are no star ratings of restaurants — only dish-level recommendations calibrated to your taste profile.
Do I need an internet connection?
Forkd needs a connection to scan a new menu, because the OCR and recommendation steps run server-side. Once a menu is scanned, its recommendations and your saved dishes are cached locally so you can recall them at the table even if the dining room has bad reception.
